Nazca

The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert, a high arid plateau that stretches 53 miles or more than 80 kilometers between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. They were created by the Nazca culture between 200 BC and AD 700. There are hundreds of individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fishes, sharks, llamas and lizards.

The Nazca lines cannot be recognized as coherent figures except from the air. Since it is presumed the Nazca people could never have seen their work from this vantage point, there has been much speculation on the builders' abilities and motivations.

(NAZCA LINES)

We pick you up at your hotel and take you to the airport. Once there you will have the opportunity of watching a video about the lines of Is born so that our clients can get a better idea about the archaeological zone that they are just about to see from the air. We have small airplanes with space for five passengers, all with seats by the window, so that you can observe the drawings correctly. The airplane flies in circles over each figure, reason why you will be able to see the figures one by one following the instructions of our pilot. In addition, a map of the zone will be given to you, so that you will be able to recognize each figure. The flight lasts for about 35 minutes, time in which, you will be able to see more than 20 figures and hundreds of lines in operation in all the directions.

Among the most impressive, you will see a great monkey (90 meters in length), a perfect representation of a hummingbird (50 meters), an enormous flamingo with a size of 3 football courts, a spider, a whale, a parrot, a condor, a tree, a dog, a frog and several trapezoids that resemble old tracks.

The flight time is 40 minutes
