Choquequirao 8 days

FIRST DAY:

We pick you up at your hotel in the city of Cusco at 5:30 a.m. to take you towards the San Pedro de Cachora town, place in which we will meet all the people who will go along with us along the trek (cook, porters, carriers, guide assistant), we will have a lunch in Capuliyoq area and in the camping of Chikiska we will be able to enjoy the fruit that grows in this zone besides a refreshing bath. Finally we will stay overnight here.

SECOND DAY:

After a good breakfast we will start our long walk towards the archaeological group of Choquequirao, which will be mostly uphill. We will have lunch near the farming community of Marampata. We will be arriving at our camping around 5:00 p.m. where we will sleep on one of the Inka terraces, from where we will be able to observe a beautiful sun-set, to then spend the night there.

THIRD DAY:

The next day very early we will visit all the archaeological site, we will enjoy the guiding for about 2 hours; around 10:00 a.m. we will continue with our long trek, this day is the hardest of all because we will ascend most of the day going through the Blanco River zone where we will have lunch, we will arrive to the camping site after 3 hours of our lunch, camping in Maizal village.

FOURTH DAY:

After breakfast we will keep on walking ascending for about 3 hours, bordering pass of Yanama to then descend, taking a break in the Victory mines, where we will be able to appreciate the flora and fauna of the place. We also be able to observe stone blocks where there are minerals. Then, we will descend until our Yanama camping where we will spend overnight.

FIFTH DAY:

The trekking this day will be moderate due to the geography of the zone, descending by some slopes where we will be able to observe the biodiversity, lunch will be in the zone of Totora that is to 3 hours far from the final camping site; so, after lunch we will walk until the camping site of Collpa, at this place we will find some local people who sell soft drinks, batteries and other articles.

SIXTH DAY :

The trek this day is short but very attractive, since we will have the opportunity of taking a refreshing bath in one of the waterfalls that comes down from the mountain, in addition we will enjoy the refreshing fruits like passion fruit, willwalk through some coffee and banana grooves. We will arrive at our camping around midday will have lunch in the camping site to then have a free afternoon for relaxing.

SEVENTH DAY

start the trekking in the morning, to ascend a small hill which will lead us to one of the small and dispersed archaeological sites known as Llaqtapata, in this place we will see a carved rock, worked with astronomical purposes. Lunch will be served at the Hydro-electric sector, place in which we will take the train that will take us until Hot Water town (Aguas Calientes town). Overnight at a hotel..

EIGHTH DAY

After breakfast we will catch the bus that will take us until Machupicchu, where we will have about 2 hours guiding, after which they will have free time to explore and to be able to climb the mountain of the Huaynapicchu.

In the afternoon we will take the train to return to OLLANTAYTAMBO and there take the bus towards Cusco, arriving here at night.
