Ausangate 5 days

FIRST DAY:

We leave Cusco around 10:00 a.m. towards Tinki; along our route we will appreciate the landscape of the Andes, and the flora and fauna in the South zone. In route we will go by Urcos, Ccatcca and Ocongate, in all those places we will stop for about 20 minutes, in order to take pictures along with the native people from those places; On the zone called (barrow), that is located over 4550 masl, the trip will take about 8 hours until Tinki, we will go in a local bus (4600 masl), where we will camp.

SECOND DAY:

After an early breakfast we will depart from Tinki to Arapa. Along our walk we will have small ascents and slopes. However, we will enjoy the majestic landscape of the Puna region, in such a way to get an idea about Andean life. We will have the opportunity of sharing the houses with some settlers which are in our way. We will have lunch on the way between 12 to 1 p.m. Our arrival to the camp site will be around 4 p.m. for hot afternoon tea, to warm us from the cold, to finally have dinner in Arapa (4800 masl).

THIRD DAY:

Arapa-Pampachaca: Keep on going, on the third day we will ascend until the Ausangate cove (5400 masl) where we will enjoy the glacier-chain of the Ausangate that is connected to the mountain range of Puno, in which very long walks must be done to arrive to Puno. By these regions; some times, Andean condors and guinea pigs as well as (viscachas) can be seen. Soon we will be eating next to the Ausangate Lake, where we can fish trout. Then, we will continue to the camp site where we will rest.

DAY FOUR:

Pampachaca- Pacchanta: this is the last day of our walk. We will first ascend and then descend to continue our walk until we arrive to a hot spring, but before we have to camp for one to two hours. Likewise, we will leave the Ausangate range through soft walking until our camp site, where we will have lunch.

FIFTH DAY:

Pacchanta-Tinki: a wonderful day to be able to enjoy the hot springs and enjoy the Yanama landscape. In the evening we will be returning to Tinki, where will take our return trip to Cusco, arriving to our hotel at nightfall.
