At the Alliance Francaise recently,
a unique style of photography was presented. Stepping into the wide gallery full of seemingly traditional oil paintings, visitors scrutinize and study the artworks. However, this is not your typical kind of oil painting. Upon closer look and examination, the works reveal that fine art and photography have been blurred, thus resulting in a grand piece of work that combines both forms of art.
Seemingly surreal, some of the artworks include a black and white photograph of two chairs, with a trio of painted singers and dancers super-imposed in the background, which fade and blend into the dark image. In another image, a woman caught up intensely in the throes of her dance stares at you while fading away into a piece of fine art.
