Iquitos

Day 1:
Reception at the airport, short city tours. Transfer to the main harbor to meet our speed boat to visit the floating houses of “Belen”, located on the edge of the Itaya river, continue traveling down the Amazon River to arrive at the ecological private reserve “Cumaceba Lodge”. Reception with typical drink, accommodation in the bungalows with private bathrooms, typical lunch, a long walk in the primary forest knowing medicinal plants and the wild life of the reserve. Depending on the weather conditions, we may see the sun set. At night jungle walk excursion, to hear the sound of the rain forest animals and to find various nocturnal insects and frogs. Dinner and over night.
Day 2:
Early jungle walk to a primary rain forest to look for monkeys, birds, sloths, medicinal plants, orchids. Breakfast, and visit to the “Yagua” Indians to see their native clothing and own dialect demonstration of old way of typical hunting with the Blowgun”, Processed handy crafts that could be traded or bought. after lunch, tour by the Amazon river visiting a small zoo to see varieties of animals like: sloths, monkeys, turtles, Caymans, the famous Anacondas “Constrictor , (non poisonous)! After another chance to see the beautiful Amazonian Sunset, we go on a nocturnal lake excursion in canoes, with possibility of observing Caymans (Alligators). Dinner and over night.
DAY 03:
Early canoe ride to go bird watching in their natural habitat of the “Shansho lake” our biological area. Breakfast and we go by foot to a secondary trail to see the river side huts, farms and see the way the local people live. Walk to the Yanayacu river for canoe ride, piranha fishing (as well as other species of Amazon fish), bird watching, and the way back we do by a primary jungle. typical lunch and return to Iquitos.
